Meanwhile, Norene and Richard are with their group of 152 Travel With Alan travelers on their seven-day land tour to Seward, Anchorage, Denali and Fairbanks.
Having the overnight in the city gave people the chance to visit some of the nightclubs, like the Tropicana and the Buena Vista Social Club, for some fantastic Cuban food, drink, and music.
I just wandered in the Plaza Vieja, which was walking distance from the ship, and walked along, hearing the music pouring out many of the restaurants and bars. I would say that all 246 people in our group are very happy!
Meanwhile, this week, we have had four different groups in Alaska; we have our 14-day Alaska cruise, our 11-day Anchorage cruise tour, our 14-day Fairbanks Alaska cruise/tour and our 11-day Alaska and Yukon tour.
We also have our European river cruise group aboard their Legendary Rhine cruise, and our Royal Caribbean group doing their Scandinavia and Russia cruise.
Even though bad weather was predicted, we have had some very nice, sunny weather.
We had two days in Fort Lauderdale, staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The next day, most of our group had a tour of Flamingo Gardens and some free time at Las Olas, Fort Lauderedales old Downtown. Were busy in the office, taking care of everything that built up over the long weekend and doing the final preparations for my tour to Florida and Cuba next week.I got home from Rome late on Tuesday night, to some stormy weather. On Monday we transferred to the Port of Miami, where we boarded the beautiful Norwegian Sky.I used to go on this ship all the time, but its been 12 years since Ive been aboard.I have to say, the ship looks greatlike a brand-new ship. We had all day yesterday, overnight, and all day today in Havana.
