Other MD/arrranging credits include: UK No 1 tours of Annie, Totally Frocked Up, Stage Stars and Spirit of the Musicals, the Irish premiere of Rent(for which she was the first person outside of Broadway to collaborate with the Larson estate to produce new arrangements); Martin Charnin’s 9 And a Half Quid Revue at the King’s Head; the UK premieres of Victor/Victoria, The Ultimate Man and Reefer Madness all at the Bridewell: the UK premiere of Naked Boys Singing at Madame Jo Jos: Pendragon for the NYMT on tour in Japan, Funeral Games, Dick Daredevil, South Pacific and Kiss and Tell all at the Drill Hall, London, the latter of which she also wrote the songs.
She has worked regularly with Perfect Pitch notably MD’ing’ From Up Here in its West End Showcase.
Between 2007-2009 Annemarie wrote for the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds inc: the score for Black Eyed Susan (which reopened the Theatre after its major refurbishment), plus the music/lyrics for the critically acclaimed pantomimes Cinderella and the Glass Slipper(2007), Puss in Boots (2008) and Jack and the Beanstalk (2009) all written with Daniel O’Brien.
2014 was taken up with the development of a new quiz show for Rain Media, which included filming a TV pilot for Channel 4.
2015 was consumed by writing a new panto, a new musical, arranging The MTA’s annual revue and showcases, and overseeing the relocation of the college to its new site at BGAC.
Originally from Swansea, Annemarie trained At Middlesex Polytechnic, graduating with an honours degree in Performing Arts.
As the Musical Director for the award winning Steam Industry she was the MD/Arranger for shows such as the London stage premiere of Calamity Jane, The King and I, The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers all at BAC.
As an accompanist and performer Annemarie regularly played for various cabaret stars, ironically enjoying her role of the “miserable pianist”.
As a repetiteur she has played for most of the top London casting directors and producers, and indeed still plays for the occasional audition (just to keep her hand in).Along with H&W consultant Angie Peake, Annemarie has been a driving force in getting the #time4change Mental Health Charter out into the industry.Full details can be found at Whilst examples of her work can be found here: Alan trained at the Guildford School of Acting and graduated with a First Class BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance and the Principal’s Award 2000.She now writes a regular blog about life as a working musician/Principal.Other credits since opening The MTA inc: Musical Supervisor for Robin Hood (Cambridge Touring Theatre) & Around The World in 80 Days (Scoop Theatre, London), West End Backwards (Kings Head) MD’ing a workshop of Playback the musical, and also supervising and playing on the demo album of the show.Having MD’ed The MTA’s revival of Around the World in 80 Days in June, she is now recording backing tracks and supervising the Brewhouse Theatre Taunton’s production of the show this Christmas.
